It was a delightful surprise to have an initial burst of response to this blog. Thanks to all of you who already are participating and signing up to follow the postings. You may have noticed that two of the responses were from Germany and Spain (from good friends and colleagues, David and Martin!). It is a testimony to the growing circles of Godly Play around the world. In addition to Europe, Godly Play is in Africa and Latin America. We've gotten recent e-mails in the past weeks from Panama and New Zealand. Check out the Godly Play website (godlyplay.org) to find information on international contacts.
Whether or not the words are the best, I have new appreciation and vision for that song I remember singing as a child:
Jesus loves the little children
all the children of the world
red and yellow, black and white
they are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Congratulations! What a wonderful way to communicate and feel a fellowship across borders and oceans! This is going to be very helpful and valuable, I am sure, and reading the messages was a good way to enter the new year.
ReplyDeleteAlso Happy New Year to all the nice people that I was lucky to spend some wonderful days together with in Spain!
In January and February two teacher accreditation courses [numder three (Constanze and Peter teaching) and four(Anne, Rune, Anne-Helene teaching - hopefully becoming accredited as a Norwegian trainer team - and Peter supervising)] will be held in Norway. We will appreciate support with thoughts and prayers of every pearl member of the Godly Play necklace reading this blog.
Anne-Helene Gjengedal, Bergen, Norway
I guess the reason why some of us Europeans have responded so readily to initiatives like this blog is that we are still feeling rather isolated as we continue to find our way into the heart of Godly Play. So any means of communication and support from the international GP circle is most welcome and greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, it was a wonderful privilege for me personally to have hosted the event in Madrid last September. The enormous richness and diversity of the countries represented there made all the effort really worthwile.
